John 16:33 (NLT)
33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
James 1:2-4 (NLT)
2 Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy.
3 For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.
Problems are a part of our life. Everyone has them. I once heard the late Norman Vincent Peale say “the only people in the world that doesn’t have problems are in the grave yard, and some of them have real problems.”
However problems come and problems go. It’s up to us to “let them go”.
With every ending comes a new beginning!
Letting go of past problems and pains and embracing new beginnings is the key to growing beyond our pain.
However before we can embrace a “new beginning” we must first let go of the “old ending”. We must be willing to “let go” and “let God” help us find a new direction and purpose for our life.
Here’s the glitch or the trap where many of us spend much of our life wondering aimlessly. There is a “gap” or space between the old and the new.
Many people get stuck in this “gap” and loose all perspective or direction. Here’s the key: “We must let go of the old!
However “letting go” is a process! We must “work” the process or we remain stuck in the “gap” between the old ending and the new beginning.
The Apostle Paul gives us some great advice on letting go.
12 I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be.
14 I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.
When we become a Christian we become a brand new person. Our old self, the old person, the sinful, ugly, mean person we used to be is GONE!
2 Corinthians 5:16-17 (NLT)
16 So we have stopped evaluating others by what the world thinks about them. Once I mistakenly thought of Christ that way, as though he were merely a human being. How differently I think about him now!
17 What this means is that those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun!
Every day is a New Beginning!
Every night is the ending of day that is gone.
Every morning is a fresh New Beginning of a new day!
Remember the old adage “Yesterday ended Last Night”
God wants to bless you with a “new day” a “new beginning” TODAY!
Lamentations 3:22-24 (NLT)
22 The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction.
23 Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day.
24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
How about you have you ended the old and began the new?
