Update from my heart!

December 9, 2008

I spoke with Jerry several times today. As many of you know Margaret has had a rough night and day. They say it’s like life. We have good times and bad times. It is hard to imagine life without its ups and downs. We are all praying for her and believing for a full recovery. No matter what happens to us in this life we know that God will work things together for our good and His glory. That isn’t always easy for us to handle but if we put our trust in God and keep on moving forward it’s amazing how things work out.

There are so many things in life we just don’t understand and never will, “but God” is still God. To all my friends at CPH I want you to know I am praying for you all. I went back to the hospital for the first time Sunday afternoon.

It was difficult for me. I didn’t think it would bother me but it did. I don’t know how to explain it but it was just different. I can only imagine how it must be for all of you who were so close to the situation and must go there every day. I know we “get over it” but it’s still difficult. The thing we must do is put our trust in God and keep getting up! I like what John Wayne said, “Courage is being afraid and saddling up any way”. So today we will saddle up and face the day with the confidence that God is with us.

It’s so amazing how difficult life can be but when we face the wind and move forward the fog will clear. I want all of you at CPH to know you are in my prayers every day. Together with God’s help we will make it. If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior please let this year be the year you look to God as the Heavenly Father that loves you so very much. Jesus is the baby in the manger but He is the God-man who came to bring Peace on Earth and goodwill to all man kind.

To all the friends and family of Margaret and Jerry thanks for all your prayers and support. It really does mean so very much.

Wishing you all the Merriest of Christmases

Pastor Alan
